We are very, very excited to finally be able to share this news on another important step forward for us as a business.

We are extremely fortunate and grateful, to be able to announce we are the new owners of ex GWR Pannier 9629!

The loco was built at the famous GWR works at Swindon in 1945. It spent its life working primarily in Wales, or right here in the West Country, being based in Exeter for a number of years.

Whilst being saved for preservation and escaping the cutters torch at the now infamous Barry Scrap yard, it is yet to have ever steamed in preservation.

We are very fortunate that the previous owners have amassed a considerable amount of the components required, along with spares and many wooden patterns to cast new components from.

The next few weeks will see all the parts (large and small!) head back over the border to our workshop here in Exeter.

Once restored, the loco will be put out on the hire market, being a reasonably strong and economical loco for nearly any heritage railway in the country.

The team here are super excited to get stuck into the project next year, once repairs to 35028 Clan Line are complete.
